Grooming

Here at Blue Dingo Dogs LLC, we are proud to offer fear-free grooming services. As a salon with Fear Free Certified Groomers and Certified Professional Trainers on staff our grooming is different from most.

It brings us immense joy when dogs are happy to come into the shop. We love it even more when they don’t want to leave! We know not all dogs will love their grooming visit, yet the positive health benefits far outweigh the lack of enthusiasm from some of our dog guests. Our goal is to make their visit as pleasant and free of anxiety, as possible, while always maintaining a high standard of professional and compassionate grooming.

What does fear-free mean for my dog?

Fear Free means we will take every step possible to ensure a stress-free, pleasant, and safe groom for all dogs in our care.  We are not equipped to offer services for dogs with advanced medical conditions, new to us dogs over 10 years old, and dogs with severe behavior issues (human aggression/dog aggression/severe fear of grooming/etc). We reserve the right to decline services at any time based on concerns for the safety of our staff and your pet.

  • We schedule our appointments based on the behavior and specific needs of each dog.

  • We use food during grooming. Dogs, like humans, benefit from positive reinforcement, especially during an experience like grooming. Many dogs learn that tolerating something unpleasant like a nail trim means they will earn a reward. We also use LickiMats filled with various delights for bath time and drying to help wiggly dogs focus on being a little more still!

  • All of our tables, crates, and bath areas have non-slip mats to alleviate the stress of unstable footing. We have non-slip mats throughout the building to ensure safe and proper footing.

  • We do not raise our grooming tables for medium/large breed dogs. Many larger breeds are uncomfortable with a raised table as they are not used to being up off the ground!  18 inches can be terrifying for many dogs.  We also use a non-slip ramp for pets who need help getting on and off the table safely.

We believe all dogs should be groomed as humanely and safely as possible. Grooming is a lifelong experience for all dogs. Even short-coated breeds require regular nail trims and benefit from professional grooming.

Completing this form adds you to our waitlist. We will only reach out if and when we have a spot.
